While this AleSmith Decadence vertical isn’t your traditional vertical—a take on a new style is specially brewed and released each year on the San Diego Brewery’s anniversary.  These beers are only brewed once and age beautifully.

In the spirit of traditional Belgian brewing AleSmith has departed from style-constraints to bring you a fresh take on the popular European style, the Belgian Amber. This big, complex, amber-hued ale was brewed with a substantial amount of Belgian and European malts that complement the spiciness imparted by Belgian abbey yeast. The result is a perfect balance between rich, toasty maltiness, Belgian Candi sugar and the light, floral profile of European hops. Enjoy this hearty Belgian-inspired brew now or age at a cool temperature to increase its complexities.

2014 Decadence (10% ABV) - 97 on RateBeer
AleSmith Decadence 2014 is an interpretation of a Wheat Wine Style Ale. The generous amounts of wheat used in the his beer impart a bready aroma with hints of honey, ripe fruit, and a spicy graininess. In the finish, a pleasant malty sweetness from the wheat is balanced by the addition of German and American hops. Enjoy this special brew now or age it at a cool temperature for a truly rewarding experience.
