Imperial Stout Trio

Imperial Stouts don't have a place in the summer you say? We disagree!  Kick aside that summer shandy or wheat beer and try a few of these amazing brews full of chocolate and roasty malts. (Or cellar them for a few months to enjoy as we all know winter is coming.)

Prairie Artisan Ales Birthday BOMB Imperial Stout (355ml)- 99 on RateBeer. A beer crafted to celebrate experimentation and fun with great ingredients. This twist on their BOMB Imperial stout uses caramel handmade at the brewery. Throw in the rest of BOMB's amazing ingredients like espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chile peppers and you have yet another world class creation.

Perennial 17 Mint Chocolate Stout (750ml)- 96 on RateBeerPerennial Artisan Ales hails from big beer's hometown of St. Louis, MO but about the only thing this beer shares with them is that it is BIG. At 10% ABV expect a decadent chocolate stout with a smooth mint finish. Skip the after dinner mint and pop open this instead.

Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura (750ml)-  96 on RateBeer. We're not sure how to pronounce the name either but it's what's on the inside the counts. From Dexter, MI, Jolly Pumpkin's Madrugada Obscura is a Belgian inspired stout that brings forth roasty malts and bitter hops. Expect the unexpected with this one as you'll find, sour aromas and taste combined with traditional stout characteristics. This is by far one of the most unique and complex beers we've featured.
