Almanac Sampler #2

Almanac, a San Francisco based brewery founded by two homebrewers Jesse and Damien, is best know for their farm-to-barrel beers. Each seasonal release, they partner with a small local farm to harvest the fruit used in their creations. In this sampler, we feature 3 of their outstanding beers.

  • Almanac Blueberry: 97 on RateBeer. Hand-picked blueberries grown in the hills of Butte County, California, are added to a sour golden ale aged in wine barrels. The resulting beer is infused with a delicate blueberry essence, a reminder of far off summer days.
  • Almanac Farmer's Reserve Raspberry: 99 on RateBeer. Raspberries and sour beer is a magical pairing that creates something more than the sum of its parts. Combined with our sour blonde ale, the final blend highlights huge fruit flavor and the bounty of Coastal California.
  • Almanac Pumpkin Pie de Brettaville: 97 on RateBeerPumpkin Pie de Brettaville is a magical mix of barrel-aging and the rich flavors of autumn. They start with heirloom pumpkins from Bodega Bay and roast them whole to create a deep sugary caramelization. The pumpkins go into to a bright brettanomyces-fermented beer, and then age in oak casks with a selection of pumpkin pie spices; whole vanilla beans, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Pair this complex sipper alongside autumn campfires, turning leaves and one extra slice of mom’s Thanksgiving pie.
