Almanac Sampler

Almanac, a San Francisco based brewery founded by two homebrewers Jesse and Damien, is best know for their farm-to-barrel beers. Each seasonal release, they partner with a small local farm to harvest the fruit used in their creations. In this sampler, we feature 4 of their outstanding beers each in 330ml bottles.

  • Valley of the Hearts Delight: 99 on RateBeer. Before tech overtook Silicon Valley, fruit orchards use to blossom outside San Jose. This sour is an ode to the valleys agrirculture roots and is made with foraged apricots, loquots and cherries.
  • Saison de Brettaville: 99 on RateBeer. A blend of 12 strains of brettanomyces aged in white wine barrels. This farmhouse ale that is more funky than sour, with nuance that only brett can create.
  • Peach de Brettaville: 99 on RateBeer. Like the saison de brettaville but an addition of juicy peaches and nectarines creates balance between funk and sweetness. With brett still alive in the bottles, these can be aged for years.
  • Hoppy Sour Mosaic: (Too new to be rated). Blend of a wine barrel-aged sour blonde ale with a foeder-fermented brettanomyces farmhouse ale. Add in one of the most popular hops in IPAs and this is sure to help Almanac continue to earn the respect of beer lovers everywhere.
